EVENT HORIZON
Event Horizon’ is a body of work which refers to progressions in physics contributing to the understanding of Supermassive Black Holes which scientists believe exist at the centre of every galaxy. Although these objects are integral to how the universe behaves, scientists have a limited understanding of how they work. This large scale installation and the series of photographs produced alongside it, attempt to bring the concept of black holes to an everyday forum whilst not depreciating the wonder we experience when contemplating them. The dark centre of the form becomes completely invisible reflecting the way in which scientists can’t directly observe black holes but can observe the way objects and light behaves around them.
This series of photographs were produced directly from the original installations.
